The waiver period is a great opportunity for your small business to purchase health care coverage for your team. The waiver period begins Nov. 1 and ends Dec. 15 for a January 1 or January 15, 2025, effective date. If you purchase coverage during this time, you can take advantage of potential savings and additional flexibility:
To qualify for group coverage as a small business, your company needs between two and 50 full-time employees (including the owner). A full-time employee is defined as someone that works at least 30 hours per week. Some states have additional guidelines as to who qualifies as a full-time employee and have minimum participation requirements. For guidance on other qualifiers, call 1-833-923-1784.
If you purchase insurance during the waiver period (November 1, 2024 through December 15, 2024) participation requirements are waived.
