Update: Negotiations continue with Springfield Clinic doctors and health care professionals. However, the Springfield Ambulatory Surgery Center is now out-of-network for all Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) members.
Prepare for the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period that opens Oct. 15. The Roadshows – offered in person and virtually – begin Sept. 9.

Medicare Advantage Members Receive Appreciation Package This week Medicare Advantage members will start receiving a package that includes:
A message thanking them for choosing BCBSIL. It also tells them to expect their Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) by Sept. 30.
A tote bag as a reminder we are with them every step of the way.
An invitation to a virtual or in-person program to help them take advantage of remaining 2021 benefits and understand 2022 benefits. Members can visit bcbsil.com/medicare/seminars to choose from a series of events.

PY 2022 Marketplace Registration Now Live for Returning Producers
What’s new: Plan Year (PY) 2022 Marketplace registration and training is now available for producers who completed registration and training for plan year 2021.
Don’t forget: Producers must register annually with the Marketplace prior to helping clients enroll in or renew Marketplace polices.
Stay tuned: Training for new producers – those who did not complete the Marketplace registration process for plan year 2021 – is not yet available but should launch soon.

BCBSIL Launches New On-exchange Enrollment Process
What’s new. Consumers can now enroll, end-to-end, in our Marketplace plans via an online process CMS calls Enhanced Direct Enrollment (EDE).
What’s Enhanced Direct Enrollment? CMS partners with entities like ours and allows consumers to apply for and enroll in a Marketplace plan directly through our site – without being redirected to healthcare.gov to complete eligibility and tax credit information. (Learn more about how CMS allows EDE for carriers.)
Same steps for clients: If you’ve helped your clients enroll in a Marketplace plan on healthcare.gov, using EDE via the Retail Shopping Cart will be familiar to you. It asks similar questions and follows the same process as healthcare.gov enrollment.
Phase 1 down, 2 to go: There are three EDE implementation phases. We’ve implemented Phase 1, which supports some, but not all enrollment scenarios and situations. For details on our launch of Phase 1 of EDE, see our producer training.
