Secure Online Messaging for Disability Claims
Members who have disability insurance coverage can now send and receive secure messages within My Benefits, our online self-service tool for disability claims.
Why this matters: Secure messaging offers the most secure, convenient and timely communications experience for members when it comes to their disability claims. Available 24 hours a day, My Benefits provides members with a faster claim decision, quicker status updates and more peace of mind.
Submitting a claim through My Benefits is even faster than telephonic claim submission.
How the disability portal works:
- Members create a My Benefits account at ancillary.bcbsil.com.
- After creating a My Benefits account, members can submit a new short-term disability (STD) or long-term disability (LTD) claim. They can also link to existing disability claims, access and review their claim documents, upload supporting documents, track the status of their disability claims, and review their payment history.
- Members should initiate their claims via My Benefits before their employers submit any supporting documentation.
