Blue Door Neighborhood CenterSM Now Open in Chicago Pullman Neighborhood

For more than 80 years, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) has focused on improving the health of our communities. We are committed to helping to improve health equity for our members and the communities that we serve. As our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Derek Robinson, discussed in January 2019, we are looking for ways to help improve health equity within the health care delivery system and outside of health care, upstream from disease and medical treatment.

To build on that legacy, we opened our first-ever community-based center in Chicago’s historic Pullman neighborhood on April 27, 2019. Check out the video from our grand opening.

The Blue Door Neighborhood Center (BDNCSM) aims to boost the health of residents in Pullman and surrounding communities. Among other resources, we will offer free educational and fitness classes to members and nonmembers.

We’ll use the center to help address common health challenges and access to care issues with free wellness classes, connections to social services, customer engagement and more. We want to help make a positive impact on the health of our members, their families and the community. The BDNC is open to all residents in Pullman and surrounding areas.

The center is located in the 111th Street Gateway Retail Center, 756 E. 111th St., Suites 102 and 103, Chicago.
