Applies to: Small and Mid-market Groups (1-150), Fully Insured and ASO
Deadline: Monday, Sept. 30, 2019

Next week, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) will email reminders to fully insured and ASO renewal groups with 1-150 employees to provide their Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) information via Blue Access for EmployersSM (BAE) by Sept. 30.

New groups are required to provide their MSP information via a paper form included with their initial application paperwork.

FAQs
Q: Who is impacted?
A:
Renewing fully insured and ASO employer groups with 1 to 150 employees will need to provide this information. It is the responsibility of the employer group health plan to update BCBSIL of any employee count changes throughout the year.

Q: When will BCBSIL contact affected groups?
A:
Communications are being sent to employers this month. Periodic communications (emails or calls made to accounts with invalid or missing email addresses) may be sent to groups that have not responded prior to the Sept. 30 deadline.

Q: When is the MSP information due?
A:
To be processed as timely, the last day to complete the MSP information through BAE is Sept. 30.

Q: Can producers provide the MSP information on BAE for their groups?
A:
Yes. If producers have access to the groups' BAE accounts, they may complete the MSP information on behalf of their groups.
